Laura Gates, Founder

Laura is an ICF PCC Certified Executive Coach/Facilitator with over 30 years coaching and business leadership experience. Her background includes team facilitation, leadership training and culture change work globally. Laura is a speaker on the topic of Leading with Purpose, a subject she’s passionate about.

Current clients include Silicon Valley tech, VC-backed tech and bio-med start-up C-suite executives and their teams, and executives in transition. Previously she was a founding member and key driver in the growth of Learning as Leadership where she provided leadership training, coaching and facilitation for 22 years to clients ranging from corporate executives to NASA astronauts, nuclear physicists and Navy jet fighter pilots. Laura began her career at Citibank on Wall Street later founding a marketing firm in the San Francisco dot com start-up era.

Laura is trained in David Allen’s Getting Things Done, Crucial Conversations, Marshall Goldsmith’s Stakeholder Centered Coaching, Non-Violent Communications, Rational Behavior Theory, brain science, mindfulness, EQ360, and MBTI. She is currently developing a model for enhancing innovation and creativity to help her clients make a greater impact.

Sarah Nicotra, MTP, MAOM, GC-C

Sarah serves as a multidisciplinary consultant and marketing and communications manager for Gates Group LLC. She's a two-time master-degreed professional (MA in Transpersonal Psychology, MA in Organization Management and a BA in Psychology). Sarah brings a diverse work experience ranging from working for the Social Security Administration to business coaching for entrepreneurs, helping them access their gifts and express them in the world. Sarah also served as a Hospice Chaplain and continues to serve as a Certified Grief Counselor providing counseling and intuitive guidance for clients and their families in one of the our most powerful times of transition.

About Nancy Larocca Hedley, PCC

Nancy Larocca Hedley is an executive coach and workshop facilitator who is passionate about enhancing leadership, teamwork, and collaboration within organizations. She also works with individuals to help align their professional contributions with their natural strengths and passions so they can experience joy and meaning through their work.

Prior to founding Crescent Coaching in 2008, Nancy was Director of HR at Yahoo. In her 10 years with the company, she focused on leadership and employee development, organizational and cultural change, mergers and acquisitions, and talent acquisition. Today, her clients are primarily in the Internet and technology space and include leaders and teams in organizations such as Facebook, Google, PayPal, eBay, Visa, LinkedIn, and Yahoo.

Nancy is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation and a graduate of the Academy for Coaching Excellence. She works extensively with strengths-based tools including StandOut by The Marcus Buckingham Company and StrengthsFinder by The Gallup Organization. She is a certified practitioner of Crucial Conversations, MBTI, The Energy Project, and Tilt 365, and leads workshops on Managing Unconscious Bias. She has studied Organization and Relationship Systems Coaching with CRR Global, Organizational Development with the Center for Human Systems, and the Enneagram with Enneagram Studies in the Narrative Tradition. As a dedicated practitioner of meditation, yoga, and dance, she weaves mindfulness and somatic-based approaches into her work with leaders and teams. 


Janice Gates

Janice draws on 25 years of experience in the fields of mindfulness and somatic psychology as a coach, group facilitator and retreat leader. Janice utilizes potent awareness based tools and practices that cut through habitual conditioning, fear and inertia and support flexibility, adaptability and wisdom in any environment or situation that arises. She has worked with a wide range of organizations including Spirit Rock Meditation Center, UC Berkeley, and San Quentin Prison. Her clients range from Supreme Court justices to leaders and business executives in a variety of industries. Janice offers workshops, individual coaching, trainings and retreats. She is past president of the past president of and current advisor to the International Association of Yoga Therapists, has served on the faculty of the Yoga Research and Education Center and has presented at numerous conferences. Her work has been featured in Oprah Magazine. She is author of Yogini, the Power of Women in Yoga. Janice has studied Knowledge Based Coaching for the Workplace, an ICF approved coaching training.

Timothy kotnour, PhD

Tim Kotnour, Ph.D., partners with senior management teams to develop solutions for sustained performance excellence for their organization. He is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems at the University of Central Florida. He completed his doctorate in Industrial & Systems Engineering with an emphasis in Management Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.  He is the Director of the UCF Engineering Leadership and Innovation Institute and the Program Director of the Professional Engineering Management Program.

In 2001 and 2005, he was awarded a NASA Public Service Medal for the partnership work with the Kennedy Space Center.  He is a Fellow in NASA’s Center for Program/Project Management Research.  He is also a Fellow of the American Society for Engineering Management. He is author of the book Transforming Organizations: Strategies and Methods and was the Editor of the Engineering Management Journal.

Joel Kimmel, CEO Kimmel & Company

Joel Kimmel has lead a career focused on building highly successful organizations grounded in efficient, powerful, and effective communication technology. His private clients experience the benefit of individual creativity, an intimate sense of their unique brilliance, and a personal commitment to themselves and their work environment. He consults with numerous leading-edge coaching firms including Turning Points Inc., BizFutures - consultants to Pike Place Fish and The Williams Group.

His extensive experience leading corporate trainings, consulting on problem solving and team intervention, and coaching individuals and management to increased productivity is well established. His diverse background includes being a small business owner, Executive Consultant, an Ontological Design coach, keynote speaker, ultra-runner, national rowing champion, Vietnam veteran, and ongoing community volunteer.


Charlene Wilson

Charlene is an ICF Certified Executive Coach, Curriculum Designer and Facilitator with 20 years of experience in leadership development. Her clients have included executives from Capital One, M&T Bank, NAVAIR, NASA, and Heron Foundation. Charlene is trained as a 360° Feedback Specialist and has conducted over 2,500 interviews across a multitude of industries. Charlene is particularly adept at helping senior leaders gain awareness around the blind spots that are holding them back from advancing to the next level. Much of my work in the last few years has been with leaders at Capital One post-reorg or post performance review, when they must develop their communication skills and leadership presence in order to recover from setbacks.

Prior to her work as an Executive Coach, Charlene designed leadership development programs for high-net-worth family-owned businesses and coached third-generation heirs. Her career in leadership development began as a university administrator, a role in which she hired and trained hundreds of staff across various departments. She earned a Master’s of Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of the Pacific and led the development of the Women’s Leadership Conference. Charlene is a certified coach through the International Coaching Federation and the Strozzi Institute of Embodied Leadership.
