Shine On

shine on

Brené Brown says, “shame grows in the dark”

But the dark can be a wildly creative place

Like my dreams symbolically pointing the way to my soul’s calling

God whispering in my ear as I sleep

Creative urges propelling me from beneath the covers at 4:30 in the morning

Writing when my brain insists I should be sleeping

So much going on behind the scenes

Stirring under the surface

Sometimes going unnoticed, being invisible

Is strength

Often the most powerful person in the room is the silent one

The one who never gets the credit

But knows, deep inside, the difference they make

Shine on dear ones, regardless, shine on
